Preparing meta and head tags can be confusing, especially when trying to support the major search engines. Here, I try to layout the most common and basic tags that you should never leave out.
Define keywords for search engines:
<meta name="keywords" content="HTML, DHTML, CSS, XML, XHTML, JavaScript, VBScript" />
Define a description of your web page:
<meta name="description" content="Free Web tutorials on HTML, CSS, XML, and XHTML" />
Define the last revision of your page:
<meta name="revised" content="Hege Refsnes, 6/10/99" />
Refresh page every 5 seconds:
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="5" />
